Hallidays has been in business in Truro since 1923. Starting originally as a mail-order supply house specializing in building supplies, Hallidays served the east coast from Maine to Labrador. In the 1960's, Hallidays diversified and concentrated on home centres - providing quality building supplies throughout the Maritimes in various locations.

Facing more competiton in the growing home renovation market and building supply market in the 1980's, Hallidays phased out it's building centres and concentrated on it's Truro location. In the early 1990's Hallidays shifted it's core business towards flooring and building specialties.A family run business, Hallidays remains part of the fabric of the Town of Truro, being on it's present site since the store first opened in 1923, expanding and changing during the past nine decades.
