· The popular Berber carpeting, made of continuous loops of fiber, is a long-wearing choice. It's available in nylon, wool and polypropylene. Olefin or polypropylene Berber is extremely stain-resistant.

· A flat, dense cut-and-loop carpet is inexpensive and its high stitch per inch density makes it a durable choice, especially good for commercial settings.

· Trackless carpet's textured, crimped fibers are cut to different heights which reflect light to mask tracks. A good high-traffic area choice.

· Luxurious plush carpet, by nature, is thick and plush and will show footprints and vacuum tracks most of the time.This is the carpet you want to use in low-traffic areas such your formal living room and master bedrooms.

· Choose a carpet pad to suit the carpet. Plush carpeting requires a thick pad, but a Berber carpet needs a flat pad that won't interfere with its latex backing.
